Oasis Cafe
The Oasis Café is a Community Café offering quality homemade food and excellent coffee. We serve mouth-watering breakfasts, light bites, and lunchtime meals as well as teas and snacks.
The café is open Monday to Friday, between 9:00am to 2:00pm (the kitchen closes at 1:30pm).
We are closed on Saturday and Sunday.
How we are helping
We are a non-profit organisation that aims to make the world around us a better, happier place.
We have an on site café , the Oasis Café. Here we offer a community lunch for just £4.00 and a wide selection of breakfasts, light bites, coffees and cakes. We teach our volunteers practical skills and help prepare them for a work-based environment. A key focus of our work at the café is to teach independent living skills to people with learning difficulties.
"I feel I have made a meaningful difference at the Lifespring Centre and I have gained skills that will help me in future employment, such as time management. Due to my autism, I used to find it difficult to work in a team, but Lifespring has supported and guided me in difficult situations, so I am now much more confident in the workplace."
We also offer a range of rooms that can be hired and we can provide buffets and refreshments. We offer this service at affordable prices so that the community can easily access rooms, training or party packages on site.
CAR (Community Action Response)
The project continues in the current climate and the aim is to support people who suffer from food poverty or isolation. The group provides telephone support for people who are lonely and offers to deliver needed food to their doorstep.
Since 23 March 2020, the project has delivered nearly 300,000 meals to people in North Nottinghamshire.
This is all made possible by a group of wonderful active volunteers who have completed a volunteer application form and signed our health and safety instructions.
Our volunteers distribute leaflets, go shopping, pack and deliver hampers, make follow-up calls and work with a team that recruits and trains volunteers, takes referrals, and manages the volunteers on a day-to-day basis. We do not forget the admin staff behind the scenes who record all the data, keep us active on social media and keep an eye on the finances.
