Community Action Response (CAR)

 The church has been instrumental in setting up a support group for Ollerton and the surrounding area in light of the outbreak of the coronavirus pandemic. 

The project continues in the current climate and the aim is to support people who suffer from food poverty or isolation. The group provides telephone support for people who are lonely and offers to deliver needed food to their doorstep.

Since 23 March 2020, the project has delivered nearly 200,000 meals to people in North Nottinghamshire.

This is all made possible by a group of wonderful active volunteers who have completed a volunteer application form and signed our health and safety instructions. 

Our volunteers distribute leaflets, go shopping, pack and deliver hampers, make follow-up calls and work with a team that recruits and trains volunteers, takes referrals, and manages the volunteers on a day-to-day basis. We do not forget the admin staff behind the scenes who record all the data, keep us active on social media and keep an eye on the finances.
